The primary charity is Riseup Ministries & the Leduc Emergency Shelter Association. Riseup Ministries mission is to "educate and empower to end family violence and abuse". Riseup Ministries Society began in 2007 and exists to assist those impacted by family violence and abuse by providing support groups, educational resources, and personal counselling to women impacted by domestic abuse within their intimate partner relationships. They also educate individuals, churches and communities about the prevention of, and responses to, family violence and abuse by offering courses, workshops, seminars and conferences. Riseup Ministries serves all women from all walks of life and does not turn any woman away.

This event offers a great day of golf, laughter and fun! We are still looking for golfers and donations of silent auction items and prizes that are valuable in raising funds for our charities. Before the Canadian Country Music Awards kick off in Edmonton on September 9th, join country music stars Gord Bamford & Brett Kissel as they take on former NHL Stars, Country Music performers and more in an exciting hockey game at the Leduc Recreation Centre!

The event starts with a school anthem contest at 3:30 p.m. Other festivities happening throughout the afternoon include:

· A Taste of Leduc

· Afternoon entertainment with aspiring local artists

· Celebrity autograph signing

· Practice Skate

· Puck drops @ 7:30pm

Leduc’s 23rd annual Community Information and Registration Day (CIRD) is set to take place on Saturday, September 11th, 2010. CIRD will be held at the Leduc Recreation Centre this year.
